St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and, if you’re like me, you’re looking forward to all the festivities. Being in Chicago spoils me during this holiday, because the city goes all out. We’re talking people dancing in the streets, a dyed green river, and even mardi gras beads flying around. My friends and I are certainly channeling the luck o’ the Irish this year as we get to cruise on the green river, through the middle of downtown, on my friend Kristen’s boat this Saturday. You can bet there will be a lot of green being worn!
In the spirit of the season, below are 6 stylish ways to wear green. I sometimes find the color can be tough to know how to style, and these looks all are serving up the perfect amount of inspiration for me right now!
Layer In Leopard – From belts or shoes to skirts, pairing leopard and green is a great combination because the pattern is a fool-proof way to give really any hue an added pop of personality. Don’t be afraid to add on other patterns or colors to the mix, too!
Tie It In With Florals – Not a gal who goes all out with green? It’s okay! Many floral patterns have it incorporated within the pattern, so why not try to incorporate that into your outfit? I love the look of mixing prints right now. A pro trick there is to make sure there’s one consistent color throughout (like green!)
Pair It With Other Colors – Great combos to try include emerald green + turquoise, peach + mint green, and green with yellow or even red. Any of these color combinations will feel fresh and fun.
Have It Be Your “One Thing” – Never underestimate the power of one pop of color within an otherwise neutral outfit. I love when green is this color because it’s such a statement!
Olive Khakis For The Win – Dress them up with heels, or down with flats. Wear them with a casual t-shirt or a slouchy blouse and blazer. No matter how you choose to style them, olive khakis are a great way to tie in the color while still appearing perfectly effortless.
Liven Up With Palm Prints – Palm print was a major trend last year, and you can bet it’ll be everywhere this spring/summer too. Even though it’s still a bit chilly out, why not liven things up with a little palm?
What other ways do you like wearing green? More importantly, are you doing anything fun to celebrate the luck o’ the Irish this year?
