When it comes to wearing white after Labor Day, are you a “rule” follower?
As cliche as it is for bloggers to talk about how rules are made to be broken and wearing white after Labor Day is a fashion-forward choice and yaddi-yaddi-yadda, here’s the thing. It’s true! Please, please don’t be one of those people who tucks away all their white items after Labor Day. It’s still a great color to wear in the cooler months — it’s all about how you wear it!
I’m working on a post coming next week that will showcase ideas on how to transition some of your favorite summer pieces to fall, but in the meantime, I wanted to share a simple style hack that I love. Just add a white blazer.
Quick and easy. But effective! A white blazer is perfect as a top layer with just about anything. Conference room? Check. Coffee date? Check. Night out? Cheeeeck. I particularly love a white blazer worn over a casual t-shirt and jeans, because the combination brings just the right amount of casual vibe with an elevated twist!
In other news, my girls went back to school today!
They most definitely were not wearing anything white on behalf of ruining anything of the sort. 😉
Grace in 4’s preschool, and Joey in 2’s preschool. They marched up to their classrooms in the dresses they picked out just for today, worn with sneakers because #obvi, and they were such big girls — all excited and ready for the school year ahead. My heart nearly bursted with pride. This summer I’ve been with them 5+ weeks, and while that’s been challenging at times in terms of testing my patience, I have to say I’ve loved every second. I’m really missing my little lady crew today, though I have definitely gotten 5x more accomplished today than I did in all of the month of August. Ha! (By the way, how adorable is this bakery?! It’s called Cannelle Patisserie in Birmingham — I love that it’s French-inspired!)
Anyways. Thanks for bearing with me this summer as I was often slower with posting. It’ll pick up! Besides, I have my new site launch coming in the next few weeks and let’s just say….I’m exciiiiited! For this new season, and for new beginnings. xx

Blazer – 1901 Stretch Cotton Twill Blazer. Absolutely adore this blazer – it’s such a closet staple! I got it during the fall last year and love that I can wear it year round.
T-Shirt – Madewell Whisper Cotton Crewneck Tee. One of the most comfortable shirts I own and looks great with just about everything – I also have this in grey!
Jeans – High Waist Flare Jeans. These are past season, however this pair + this pair are similar!
