What Are Your Favorite Baby Names?
Baby names are a hot topic lately around here.
Of course, with the baby just weeks away, it’s very timely! We review our names, occasionally add some in and take others out, and the cycle goes on and on. Overall, we have a list of names that we like, but honestly, we’re having a hard time narrowing them down to a top few. For some reason, we’re having a much harder time with a boy name than we had with our girl’s names! So, I thought I’d crowd source some ideas, because why not?! What are your favorite baby names?
Here’s a list of baby boy names that I love. It’s funny because my “top 10” list changes all the time. (I should note Doug doesn’t like some of these – ha! Our list of names that we both like is much shorter.) And, just for fun, I’ve provided a list of my top 10 baby girl names too, which I made before we knew the gender of the baby. LOVE Grace and Josephine of course, but I kept those off for obvious reasons. š
My Current Top 10 Favorite Baby Boy Names
- Henry (“Hank” as the nickname)
- Benjamin (“Ben” or “Benny”)
- Levi
- Noah
- Beau
- Theodore (“Teddy”)
- Gabriel (“Gabe”)
- Micah
- Luke
- Julian (“Jude” for short)
My Current Top 10 Favorite Baby Girl Names
- Charlotte
- Penelope (“Penny”)
- Annie
- Maya
- Lillian (“Lily”)
- Noelle
- Ruby
- Yvonne (“Eve”)
- Evelyn
- Layla
We have our middle name set, which isn’t on the list above and we’re keeping a surprise, but we still don’t have our final baby boy first name settled.
Any other ones we should consider? Do tell – I love hearing new ideas!

Some our boys names were:
Nolan
Timothy
Santiago
These are all SOLID! I love that they’re a bit different from the norm that you hear nowadays!
Our boy is Alden, we had his name decided before we were married! Others we like…Theo, Eames, and Henrik
Love ALL of these! We have Aiden and Theo in our families so we nixed those fairly quickly, but I they’re such solid boy names!
My husband is an architect, and weāre both design-nerds and mid century modern fans.. hence the Eames (Ray/Charles Eames) and Alden (Alden B. Dow). Canāt wait to hear what you name your little guy!
We always loved Wilson, call him Will. It was on our short list for both boys! Also, why is finding a boys name so much harder than a girlās?!?
Wait that is SO CUTE. We didn’t even consider that prior but I’m bringing this as an option to Doug now! Thank you! (And yes, I agree, boy names are so much harder for some reason!)
Frankie’s best friend at the library is Harrison but they call him Harry and I LOVE that name!! We also have a friend named Teddy (Theo) and that’s cute. From your list I love Benny and Hank!!! xoxo
Little Harry!!! Too cute. Love the Harrison longer name option too!
Our sonās names were:
Tristan (Celtic)
Calum (Scottish spelling)
Geordie (Scottish for George)
The first two names were chosen from a British show called āAll Creatures Great and Smallā about a Scottish veterinary and his two assistants.
Geordie was chosen after we met a little boy on our American trip in 1991.
I love all of your names, Jenny! xx
I love Evander, Dane, Philippe, Adlai, Evren, Eames, and Broderick!
