Welcome to Part II of our updated visual home tour! (Be sure to check out Part I here!)
We’re over a month into living here, and it’s amazing how much things have come along. (And yet, how many things still have so far to go!) In Part I, I showed the current status of our kitchen, dining room, living room, and first floor bathroom. Part II is all about the bedrooms, master bath, and a peek into the basement.
In each room section, I’ve provided photos, and also a description of both the progress made and what still needs to be done. From the last home tour, I had some questions on sourcing products, so I’ve also provided a product listing for some rooms as well if you’re interested in shopping the items shown. (If there’s an item you’re interested in and I didn’t link to it, let me know!)
If you want to see how the house looked before it was fully renovated, definitely check out Before + After Photos – Home Renovation Visual Tour. It’s been a lot of fun documenting this renovation and move journey! As I said yesterday, a caveat to the below is that this is all very much still a work in progress, but I’m excited to be taking you along for the ride!
Master Bedroom
Master Bedroom Progress + To-Do’s
Progress: We bought our first king-size bed ever! Our Chicago apartments were so small that none could physically fit that size bed, so we were crazy excited about finally being able to have a king. To match, we bought new nightstands. All mid-century modern in style! And, we recently purchased a new dresser.
To-Do’s: All artwork hung on walls. A large rug is needed for this room – right now the bare hardwood is nice but a rug would make this room feel more inviting and warm. We’re toying with removing that brown leather chair and putting that in another room, and instead replacing that area with something different.
Master Bedroom Product DetailsK
King Bed is the Mid-Century Acron Platform Bed, and matching nightstands are the Landon Nightstands in Acorn. You can shop similar Mid-Century modern style furniture here.
White paint is “Bakery Box” by Behr.
Dresser is from the Malone Collection at West Elm.
Duvet Cover is West Elm.
Master Bathroom
Master Bathroom Progress + To-Do’s
Progress: After a ton of trial and error, we found a mirror that we like! We also have somewhat set up this bathroom to be how we want. I just have to say here that I am OBSESSED with this tile and love it more every day.
To-Do’s: All artwork hung on walls. Potentially a new rug with more personality. Need blinds on the french doors. (Er…it’s currently awkward when you have to go to the bathroom, ha!) Need to get a new light and then figure out what we want to do with the lighting situation — the current light being uncentered on the mirror is driving me nuts.

Blue paint color is “Waterfall” by Behr
Mosaic Tile is Black and White Merola tile from Home Depot.
Round mirror is from Art Van Furniture. Unable to find the exact one online, however, this one is similar.
Grace’s Bedroom
Josephine’s Bedroom
Grace + Josephine’s Bedroom Progress + To-Do’s
Progress: The general set up of their rooms is coming together! We used their rugs from their rooms in our old apartment, and all of their furniture is the same.
To-Do’s: All artwork hung on walls. Need to better organize their toys. I’m not loving Grace’s dresser set up, and some of Josephine’s shelving set up, so will be revisiting those items. Will also be updating Grace’s bed to a twin bed soon – she’s ready to be out of the toddler training bed!
Basement (Some of it, at least)
Basement Progress + To-Do’s
Progress: Well, we have finally gone through most of the boxes that were down here! We also have started to get our decor and furniture in order, though as you can see it’s very bare right now with the exception of the bar!
To-Do’s: All artwork hung on walls. All unpacking and organization to be completed. (I didn’t show you in the basement bathroom, closets, and our storage/laundry rooms because they’re all in pretty bad shape.) All furniture for the basement needs to be purchased. Figure out a good toy storage/kid item set up and system. Need a rug(s) for the basement. So…nearly everything. Ha!

…And there you have it! Our current home, which we’re still pinching ourselves over. I can’t wait to continue to keep you updated with the progress as it comes along, so be sure to keep checking back in! If you haven’t already, be sure to swing by Part I. Cheers, my friends!
