This post has been sponsored by Tide. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Guys. I’ve discovered an impactful, eco-friendly trick for laundry days. It’s good. Like, really good. But before I share what it is, let’s take a step back.
In another life, laundry was a total after thought in my day. Or should I say in my month? I did it..I don’t know…every 3 weeks? When the pile got too high, or perhaps when I ran out of underwear. And I was totally cool with that, because I chalked my relative infrequency up to being eco-friendly. I was a world warrior! A maven of saved resources!
Ah, the good ‘ol days.
Enter: Kids. Laundry has now become a big part of my reality. We often scratch our heads and wonder, “How the heck do we already have a massive pile to do and we just did it yesterday?!”
Grass-stained pants, jelly-dropped shirts, the occasional pee-soaked mattress liner. It piles up faster than you’d possibly imagine. All kids are messy, yes, but mine seem to take pride in smothering peanut butter fingers on every white article of fabric within reach. It’s like a game.
All that laundry is certainly enough to make you actually want to cry over spilled milk.
You know that saved-resource warrior I took pride in being in the past? Let’s just say she took off her cape long ago. Presumably to wash it. And all at the expense of trying to salvage yet another shirt from being stained beyond wear. With our loads….and loads…and loads of laundry on the regular, when I find a product that helps me to take back even a morsel of my eco-friendly pride, I get really excited.
We recently tried out Tide Purclean ™ Laundry Detergent, the first plant-based, liquid laundry detergent that has the cleaning power you’d expect from Tide, and am writing this post as my version of a digital round of applause for it.
First, I ordered it off of Amazon, which is a busy mother’s dream. We’re Prime members, so getting the goods was literally as simple as click, order – wham-bam – delivered in 2 days. So gosh darn easy that I often actually wonder what people did without it, especially in time crunches like I’m frequented with on the regular. And if, like me, the option to subscribe to a timely delivery is a lifesaver, then make sure to take advantage of the $2 off coupon from Amazon when you subscribe and save for delivery of Tide PurClean!
Back to Tide PurClean. Things I love about this product, in no particular order: It’s the first 65% USDA certified plant-based detergent with the cleaning power of Tide. Made with 100% renewable wind power electricity at a zero manufacturing waste to landfill site, it contains no dyes, chlorine, phosphates or brighteners. And, the honey lavender scent is light and fresh. (Side note: There’s nothing like the moment that warm, clean laundry emerges from the dryer!)
Other things that I love? My little besties helping out while at the laundromat and, of course, having a little fun with the carts while we’re at it. 😉 Alright, we all know that it’s all fun and games when you’re at the laundromat, and yes the detergent itself is wonderful. But what happens when you go home? Is the hoopla worth the hype? Does it actually work?
Yea. It does, guys. I was really impressed. (And – heyyo – looks like others were too! Through a little research I found that it was named one of the “Best Cleaning” of the best eco-friendly detergents in 2017.)
I took some before and after shots of some dish towels so that you can see for yourself! Not too shabby, huh? Consider me convinced over here! And happy that I was able to order it off Amazon so quickly, dive into our many loads, and use something eco-friendly while at it.
