Shirt: 1984 J.Crew Rugby Shirt in Black Khaki. I also love this in the navy/ivory, and navy/pink options. | Sneakers: Converse Chuck Tayloy Low Top Sneakers. A wardrobe must; probably the most worn sneakers in my closet, especially for the spring/summer months! | Earrings: Tortoise Hoop Earrings, which are only $10 right now. (What?!) Also love these double hoop options, which are a total steal too! | Skirt: Tulle dress, originally bought years ago for my bridal shower! You can find similar options here or here.

How about this past weekend, though?! It was everything amazing; kind of feels like we skipped spring and went straight to summer with the weather we’ve been having. Even since these photos were taken, it’s amazing how much green has popped up. The streets are filled with green and colors and blooming everywhere you look, which we shouldn’t stop commenting on as we walked around the city with our family non-stop.
I suppose it’s appropriate that the outdoors looks much different in these photos than it does right now, since this post is all about a throwback. J.Crew recently sent along this adorable rugby shirt – you know, like the ones that were popular in the 80s – and it’s safe to say this falls under the category of “Fashion items that will never go out of style”.
Things I’ve worn it with include white jeans, layered under a jean jacket, and yes, tied with a tulle skirt as pictured here. Pop the collar, or don’t. Roll the sleeves, or leave ’em down. Tie it out, or tuck it in. It looks good any way you style it, which in my book makes this an A+. (If you’re in the market for great shirts, I’m also obsessing over this floral print button up and this short sleeve silk button up!)
Shop the post below. And I hope you’re enjoying this summer weather in May!
