With one of my goals for 2014 being to better develop my personal style, I’ve been looking to fashion icons for inspiration. One of the ladies I’ve come to admire greatly is Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. Her style was timeless – Vanity Fair said it best when they coined her as the Private Princess while explaining, “There was that look: that smart, minimalist sexiness that instantly made her a gold standard of modern beauty.”
She’s intriguing to me because, though she married into a family of icons such as Jackie Kennedy, she didn’t seem to want to be known as a fashionista. It was enough for her to let her natural beauty shine and to focus her personal style on items that were both comfortable and classic. Further affirmation that less is more and elegance can truly carry itself.
