It’s been 50 degrees and sunny in Michigan the past few days!
Soooo, basically it’s summer here. There’s always a renewed excitement for life when the sun comes out and weather starts to warm up. (Even though, really, it was a fluke and we’re inevitably going to get at least a few more snow storms.) It all got me so excited for Spring weather, and of course all the Spring fashion trends, to arrive.
Paired with the fact that baby will be here in March and I’ll soon be able to dress sans bump (Whooo hooo!) it’s safe to say I’m beyond excited for Spring dressing. I’ve been really into putting together ideas for outfits sans a bump (Can you tell I’m a bit over dressing it? Ha!) and I thought it’d be fun to share some of the things I’m most excited about for this upcoming season. You’ll note that many are similar to the trends I’ve been excited about in years past! Proof that the best style trends have longevity — the best types of ones to invest in, if you ask me!
6 Spring Fashion Trends I’m Looking Forward To Wearing
Slip Dresses
They’re nothing new, of course, but this season I’m excited to embrace the slip! When I was pregnant with Josephine I embraced the slip dress frequently, and I’ll definitely be embracing it now, too. I’m most excited to embrace it beyond pregnancy, though!

70s Style
It’s back, baby! Well, for me, it never really left. But designer after designer featured 70s-inspired style on Spring runways and it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing the decade’s signature looks everywhere. Retro accessories, mod and tie-dye prints, bohemian twists, suede everything, raffia fabrics, and, yes, bell bottoms.

Ice Cream Inspired Tones
Think Rainbow Sherbert, but make it fashion. Pastels of all sorts — soft pinks, subdued oranges, blues, and minty greens — will be the colors of the warm-weather months, and if they’re worn together? Delicious.

Polka Dots
Polka dots never really left, but I’m excited that they’re making an appearance this year as THE print of the season! To me, they’re kind of like stripes — they just work. I love when different sized polka dot prints are paired together — a small dot shirt with a big dot pant, for example — and am excited to mix and match this print for a pop of fun.

Puff Sleeves
They emerged in a big way last year, but this year they’ll be unavoidable. Puff sleeves are such a great way to make a statement, and better yet, they’re easy to wear!

Denim Everything
Ah, denim. No surprise here! It’s probably my favorite thing to dress in because it just works with everything. This season I’m excited to wear denim skirts and bell bottoms. Add a puff sleeve, or ice-cream inspired color, so make it extra on-trend.
