The last stop, and longest stay, of our honeymoon {We also visited El Yunque & Old San Juan} was on a little island called Vieques, or as I called it, “La isla bonita”. It’s known for having remote beaches that are some of the most beautiful in the world with their azure-colored water and white, soft sand. I knew it was remote, but I surprised by just how remote it was. When the few-hour ferry to get there included multiple sightings of shipwrecks, I knew we were in for a unique island experience.
I kept wondering if, upon arriving, we’d get lost on the island, forever shipwrecked with just us, our luggage and my versatile new shirt that I pretty much lived in throughout the trip. I’m not going to lie, at that point, I can’t say I would have minded. I drank the Kool-aid completely & never wanted the honeymoon to end.
Be sure to check in tomorrow for the run down of our island adventure which included wild horses, sharks and a glow-in-the-dark bay.

Love that shirt! I’ve been basically living in similar pieces this summer…shorts + a sleeveless blouse is my new uniform. 🙂
Hey, we are traveling to Vieques in a few weeks. We would like to see the shipwreck, could you reveal the location of the one you got a picture of?
Of course! We were on the charter boat heading back to mainland Puerto Rico from Vieques. There were a ton of shipwrecks along the way!
