Who’s doesn’t love a fun before and after?!
Recently, we decided to re-paint our bohemian-inspired sunroom. As you can see from the photos below, it was a bright, colorful room that had a very “Whoa!” green color. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the old color! It was called “Esmeralda” by Sherwin Williams and was a very rich emerald color. The green was so different from what you’d normally see in a home, and it reminded me of many of the rooms I love over on The Jungalow. However, I do have to say that the sunroom felt a bit out of place when in context with the rest of the softer blues found on the walls in the rest of our house. The green was just so…saturated. After a few months of toying with different ideas, we decided to change things up.
But, what to change it to?! One of the things I love about our home is how bright and cheery each room is. We definitely don’t shy away from color; my mentality is that decor should be fun and color should be embraced! So it was a no-brainer that we’d incorporate some color into the room, despite wanting to tone it down a bit.
Enter in: Painted trim!
I’ve actually never done this type of look to a room before, and was a little nervous to try it out. I have to tell you, after seeing the end result…I’m so happy we did! It’s a really great way to incorporate color into a room without having the color be too overbearing.
After playing with a lot of options, we ended up using the same white that’s found in a majority of our house for the walls, “Bakery Box” by Behr, and for the trim we chose “Green Aqua”, also by Behr. The “Before” and “After” photos are below. I can’t wait to get all our furniture back into this room and fully set it up — be sure to check back in soon for a full room reveal and more photos!
Sunroom Walls: Before (“Esmeralda” by Sherwin Williams)
Sunroom Walls: After (“Bakery Box” on walls + “Green Aqua” on trim)
On Instagram, I’ve gotten lots of questions about my plant pots! (Yes, I know I’m a crazy plant lady – ha!) The following are all the available links and sourcing for what’s shown above: Fox & Fern Set Of 3 Plant Pots + Matching Mid-Centry Plant Stands + Terracotta Pots via Home Depot + Rattan Indoor Plant Stand.
Are you team “Esmeralda” or “Green Aqua”? Be sure to look for a full room reveal coming soon!
