By far, the most common clothing item I wear are jeans.
Every season, even summer, jeans of some sort are on constant rotation. My most comfortable jean brands are my tried-and-true go-to for everything from relaxed days at home, to elevated nights out. (Le Sigh. Remember going out?!) Jeans just work, always. (Er…except for a dressy event. But that goes without saying, no?)
My Top 4 Most Comfortable Jean Brands
I love that you can pair them with a classic T-shirt and sneakers for weekend wear, swap in a blouse and heels for a night out, or even add a blazer to go business casual. Nothing says “All American” quite like jeans, and in terms of versatility, I truthfully can’t think of a clothing item that can be worn so many ways.
All that is why I’m a firm believer that everyone needs many great pairs of jeans in their wardrobe!
For me personally, I’m picky about my jeans, probably because I’ve owned far too many that haven’t worked out. I like for there to be a little stretch, but they also need to hold their shape. I like to wear them many times without needing to wash them. (We’ve all had that pair that are way too big, need to be shrunk in the wash, and then stretch a few hours after wearing. So annoying!) The shape, colors and style may vary, but the MOST important factor of all is that they’re comfortable. (Or else, why bother?!)
In the past, I’ve typically found that the jeans I buy via fast-fashion or “in a hurry” are the ones that don’t hold up as well, which is why I’m a firm believer in investing in a high-quality pair of jeans that will last. The goal is to find pairs that provide comfort and wear season after season. Ones where, yes, you may pay more in the upfront, but that you look back on years out and say, “YUP these were worth it!”
For reference, I am almost 5’10 and I typically wear a size 4. So, I have the unique issue of jeans often not fitting properly because many run way too short! So when I find a jean brand that fits well and also is comfortable, I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot.
Here are my top favorite, tried-and-true jean brands. You’ll note many of these brands are focused on sustainability efforts as well, which of course is so key and one of the big decision factors in my purchases now!

Agolde Jeans
There are two pairs of Agolde jean products in my closet — my Sophie High Rise, Step-Hem jeans and my Vintage Parker Shorts. Both have the perfect amount of shape and give, are made from soft denim, and are very flattering. (Both of these items are pictured above!)
I adore this brand for their take on vintage silhouettes and authenticity. Their jeans are kind of like a best friend — always reliable, and the ones you go to without even thinking about it. Companywide, they’re committed to being thoughtful in the creation of their denim and use advanced methods to reduce their imprint on the environment, which obviously is a HUGE benefit.

Levi’s Jeans
One of my favorite jeans brands is Levi’s, and for good reason. They’re the most classic, all-American jeans you can get! I personally have the distressed Wedgie Icon Jeans, and I can’t recommend them enough. They’re slightly distressed and a great wash for everyday wear. Swing by this link to browse a ton of options. (The 724 Straight Crop Jeans are SO GOOD.) You really can’t go wrong with these classics!

MOTHER Jeans
MOTHER is a jean brand that’s acquired an almost cult-like following, and for good reason! They have options that are all things chic, and yes, comfortable! My MOTHER black step-hem ankle jeans are a constant repeat in my closet (the above photo is from two years ago) because they have the perfect amount of stretch and they are so flattering! Check out the options at this link –– there are so many cute styles, and all with that perfectly relaxed “California girl in the 70s” vibe.

J.Brand
J.Brand jeans are another newer-to-me brand – I found them when researching sustainably-made jean options and was impressed with their efforts. They use recycled materials, and are focused on reducing the waste associated with their jeans to almost zero. J.Brand makes jeans that are for season after season, wear after wear. Ones that you buy once, and wear for decades.
The J.Brand jeans I own are really fun – they’re a wide-leg, high rise fit that feels very modern-day 1990s. The denim is super soft and, from the get-go, have this relaxed, worn feel that’s perfectly cozy while still stylish. I’ve been eyeing a few pairs of additional jeans from their collection, including their 1212 Runway Highrise Slim + Mara High Rise Skinny Jeans!
