With a slogan like that, Sosh caught my eye immediately. With so much going on in the city, it’s easy to miss out on what’s right in front of you. When I first moved to Chicago, I was all about exploring different neighborhoods and areas, but I’ve found myself borrowing into my comfort zone lately. It’s not that I’m not interested in doing new things, it’s just that I often don’t know where to look. That is, until Sosh came along.
It’s not about daily deals or discounts, it’s an app all about experiences. Essentially, Sosh curates things going on in your area. Think of it as your one-stop social concierge that knows exactly what you’d like to do and organizes all your favorite to-do’s. {Definitely one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?!” ideas, right?!}
When you sign up, a few interest-based questions are answered, and from there the app surfaces experiences in your area that you may like. I immediately went to the “Under $30” section (#PostWeddingProblems) and found things right in my neighborhood like free workouts in the park and local sketch comedy shows. Dougy and I even tried a new place recently, Compass Bar, which was highlighted in the “Date Night” section.
One feature that I love is the ability to bookmark things that you want to do. Once you’ve bookmarked an activity, the app saves it in your profile section so that you can see what you’ve saved by the day, week and even month. You can follow other people too, to see what’s on their radar.
Since downloading it, I’ve found myself continually referencing the app for things to do, and I’ve found some amazing ideas. I even have things bookmarked to do for once I get back from our honeymoon. On my list: The Renegade Craft Fair Mini Market, an “Intro to Sailing” class, and even an “Intro to hip hop” class. Pop, lock and drop it.
Sosh is just launching, so it’s currently only available Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C. If you’re in one of those cities, download Sosh here! {In case that link doesn’t work, just go to the App store and search “Sosh”.} If you’re not in one of the cities Sosh is available in, don’t you worry, it’s expanding fast! Boston and L.A. are up next.
Now, go download the app and get exploring!
