If it seems as if, so to speak, I’ve dropped off the face of the blogging earth the past few weeks, it’s because I have. You see, it’s been pretty busy over here, and I’ve had to prioritize some things in order to keep {relatively} sane. Here’s a quick low-down on what I’ve been up to lately!
First things first, we moved. With the baby on the way, we decided that our tiny one bedroom apartment just wouldn’t do, so we set out on the hunt for a new haven. The stars seemed to align perfectly — within a week of getting back from the holidays, we found a sub leaser for our old place, signed a lease at our new place, and started packing boxes.
Above is a snapshot of our new living room, which has the most lovely bay windows that I’ve found myself peacefully sitting near in the mornings. I can’t wait to show you photos of the decorating process soon – I’m definitely nesting and getting our new abode all set up is constantly on my mind.
Every morning I used to get up early and write for this blog, but lately that’s shifted to working on Wandeleur. {Blair, my business partner, did an awesome post about the site recently – be sure to swing by and read it!}
We are aiming to launch the last week of February. To say that it’s been a lot of work would be an understatement, but to say that we’re excited would also be one. We can’t wait to launch and show you what’s been keeping us busy on our work off hours these past few months! In the meantime, thanks for being patient on the sporadic content over here.
In pregnancy news, this week marks 20 weeks, which means I’m half way through! I have to be honest, I’m feeling underprepared right now, so the fact that I still have 4.5 months left is a bit of a relief.
Honestly, I haven’t put much thought toward nursery preparation quite yet. I think I’ve been subconsciously waiting for planning until we find out the sex, which happens today! Any guesses if it’s a boy or girl? {PS – A huge thanks to Cait who sent the above surprise this week!}
At work, things have been in constant motion, too. Our team made headlines over on USA Today and Ad Week recently as we tackled a social media giveaway never done before during the Super Bowl. In fact, we made history: Because of the Super Bowl effort, McDonald’s holds the spot for most retweeted brand. {Here’s the behind the scenes of how we made it happen!} It was so cool to be a part of such a huge effort, and to see it pay off as it did was total icing on the cake.
In other news, we moved desks after a floor plan switch, and I totally lucked out with the above view, which has made me incredibly in tune to the sun’s patterns, and I can definitely confirm that days are definitely getting longer. Who else is beyond excited for Spring?
Of course, in between all the work and nesting, I’ve been having some fun too. We’ve had visitors nearly every weekend, including my parents who helped us move, my friend Carly flew in from New York {That’s us above with a few of our college girlfriends, pretending to the in a band. We’re so cool, right? …Right?}, and Doug’s parents are in this weekend to join our gender reveal party!
Don’t worry, I won’t leave you out of the fun. Expect a big blog reveal next week. And, in the meantime, I’ve got more goodies lined up this week. Yay productivity!

And, how fabulous are you girls pretending you’re The Beatles in the middle of Chicago? Love it. Best wishes to you as you find out the gender of your little nugget today!
