Nothing like the golden hour, right?
I was happy to catch it in a spur-of-the-moment happenstance last week. I went to grab my car from the top of a parking garage when it hit me.
Like, the sunshine actually hit me. You know when you’ve been running around like a mad-woman, and something makes you stop and just sloooow down for a minute? That’s what happened. I was walking up to the car, and – BAM – the rays were just too lovely to go unnoticed.
I realized that I was smack dab in the middle of one of the most lovely times of day. Everything suddenly didn’t seem so rushed. I just wanted to soak in the glow. How lucky are we that we live in a world of golden hours?
Also lucky? The fact that I had my tripod and camera at this moment, so I pulled it out to try and capture it. Which was a great thing, because I’d been wanting to share these amazing velvet pants since I got them! Funny, because when I think about the feelings that velvet pants and golden hours bring me…they are actually very similar. Warm, inviting, soft. I actually bought these to be worn dressed up for holiday parties — to which I’ll share a look soon — but on this day I wore them more casually. Booties, a turtleneck and a leather jacket. Love me all of the above!
The J.Crew Velvet Pants and turtleneck are both 35% off right now, by the way. Just saying. 😉
Moving on. How was your weekend? Ours was really eventful! We had Doug’s holiday work party on Friday night, Gracie and I went to a “Mommy and Me Tea” birthday party (SO CUTE) and then our best friends came over for dinner on Saturday, then on Sunday we went to a holiday market and just relaxed for the rest of the day. It was the type of weekend where I hardly picked up my phone. The best kind, if you ask me.
By the way, happy first full week of December! How are we doing with holiday shopping? Here are some gift guides and lots of fun present ideas, if you’re in need.
Let’s make this week a good one, friends. xx
