5 Wardrobe Staples You Need For Spring

Sunshine on my mind and giddy over the fact that all my spring/summer items are now the highlights of my closet. In a fitting occurrence after being knee-deep in organization and switching out my closet this past weekend, the following day was bright, sunny, and almost bearable in a denim jacket. (Reminder: I’m the loon who dresses for the weather I want, not the weather that that’s present.)

Here’s a fun little exercise. Once your closet is set up and ready for Spring, pay attention to the first things you wear. Will it be that darling dress that you didn’t wear nearly enough last time it was warm? Will you rock bright heels over booties? Or perhaps you’re like me, and you’ll go for tried and true favorites that you genuinely missed wearing over the snowy months.

Here’s my round up of items I gravitate toward, year over year. 5 easy wardrobe staples that are guaranteed to get more use than anything else this season. (And, of course, the ones worth investing the most in!)

1. Denim Jacket – There’s nothing like something that gets better over time, and a great denim jacket is just that.
2. White Pants – Not Memorial Day yet. Don’t care.
3. Comfortable Loafers – No more snow = way more shoe options. Loafers are my jam lately; comfortable, chic and literally go with anything.
4. Versatile Button Downs – Can’t stop, won’t stop; I wear button downs more than any other type of shirt, mainly because they look so great styled so many different ways. I love them casually tucked into jeans, as pictured here, but I also love them tied in the middle, paired with skirts, or even shorts when it’s warmer. One of my all time favorite styles is the Relaxed Poplin from Everlane.
5. Bandana Scarves – Around the neck, wrist, waist, or even bun. Scarves are my favorite accessory by far, and especially in the spring, they bring such a lovely, feminine twist to an outfit.
