Bloom (bloom) n.: 1. The condition or time of flowering. 2. A time of vigor, freshness, and beauty; prime. 3. A fresh, rosy complexion. 4. To shine with health and vigor; glow.
It really is the perfect word for springtime, isn’t it? April is filled with bloom – longer days, brighter skies, and an undeniable newness that the season brings. Everything seems more cheerful. Colors start to pop up in bushes, on the ground, and in wardrobes as worn winter looks begin to retire until the snow falls again.
While I’ve yet to see a flower in the streets of Chicago, it won’t be long now until they sprout. In the meantime, I’ve been doing my part to liven up these parts of the city.
