Blouse: Halogen + Atlantic Pacific Wrap Blouse. This top is so flattering and I can’t get enough of it! Seriously, if you’re going to buy any top this season, I vote that this be it. It’s just so good. Expect to see lots more of this in upcoming posts! | Pants: Hudson High Waist Skinny Jeans. The fabric is a little stretchy, making them some of the more comfortable jeans I own! | Boots: Hunter Original Tall Rain Boots. These are years old and still some of my favorites. | Earrings: Baublebar Adelissa Flower Earring. They also come in white, which would be so pretty especially with something like a white chunky sweater. | Umbrella: ShedRain Bubble Umbrella – so fun, right?!

Are you a “November!!!” or “November???” person?
Exclamations being, “YAY IT’S THE BEGINNING OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON!” and question marks being, “WTF IT’S ALREADY THE HOLIDAY SEASON?!”
Personally, I’m in both camps right now. Excited to kick off the month of giving thanks and sequentially the month of giving gifts, but a little sad that the end of the year is really here. Besides, didn’t I just write a post about my disbelief about it being October?! (I even disclosed a bit about why these last months of the year give me a bit of anxiety in that post.)
The weather’s starting to reflect the changing tides, too. It’s been consistently coat-weather and rainy here in Michigan, though trick or treating was actually fairly pleasant last night with zero rain and porch-worthy temps.
How was your Halloween, by the way? Our girls were The Incredibles. I couldn’t get over their cuteness! We went trick or treating in our new neighborhood and it was so nice to meet some of our neighbors!
Back to November. “Dreary” is a great word to describe the outdoors here, but I’ve got to say that all the fall colors make it worth it. There’s really nothing like the changing of leaves in Michigan — everywhere you go, there’s a tree that seems even more vibrant than the others. What’s not to love about the world around you becoming more colorful?
Here are 15 things I’m looking forward to most this November!
- Changing leaves. In the past week or so, there’s been a total color explosion in the trees. It’s so beautiful!
- Jumping into said leaves. I loved doing this growing up and I can’t wait to rake a biiiig pile, and go to town with Gracie and Jo.
- Moving into our house. The time is finally here! After 4 months of sharing a room with two toddlers in my parent’s basement, we’re finally moving into our house this weekend. CUE THE FIREWORKS! Technically we’ve been “moved in” for about a month, but we faced some unexpected last minute construction and inspection delays, so we’ve been slowly unpacking. I’m so happy that we’re going to officially be living there!
- Having a home. Of course, we’ve had one this whole time. Home is where the heart is, after all, and our parents have been so generous with letting us take over their basements over the past months. But, I’m excited to have our own home. Our own space. One of the things I loved about Chicago was how much time our little family spent together. I’ve really missed that. I’m looking forward to the final stretch of getting acclimated to this huge move and life transition, and feeling settled.
- Getting organized. Our lives have (literally) been lived out of boxes for months now. I’m a very visual person, and when things aren’t organized around me I feel out of sorts. So, I’m so excited to take the time to get organized. At home, at work, in life. (Okay, now I’m just beating this whole move over your head. This is the last time I’ll mention it in this post, I promise!)
- Bake cookies. I’m not a cook, as you all know. But I love to eat! Cookies are fairly fool-proof and I figure they’re a rite of passage with a new home in the mix.
- Really diving into work. My biggest hurdle thus far with entrepreneurship has been time management, especially with so many big life transitions happening all at once. I’m a month in, isn’t that crazy?! I feel like I’ve done a lot, and yet not nearly enough. This month, along with getting more organized, I’m motivated to get ahead.
- Cider Mills. Gotta get those caramel apples and donuts in while they’re still here!
- Reading. I have so many books on my list that I can’t wait to read! I’m going to make it a point to take even 20 minutes to devote to reading every day. If you have great book recos, send them my way!
- Thanksgiving. Gimme all the stuffing! We usually run around from house to house, but this year we’re doing things differently. One house, all day – my cousin’s – and we’re staying the night. She has kids the same ages as Gracie and Jo and they have so much fun together! (Adults, too!)
- Busting out my favorite Hunter Boots. These have been on heavy rotation for me for years. They’re perfect for rainy days – like the one pictured – and I love that you can simply add in the fleece lining to make them work for winter, too!
- Cozy nights in. With chili and hot cocoa. Curled in a blanket. And definitely paired with movie marathons.
- Sweater weather. To compliment the cozy nights in!
- Meeting Babies. I have a few friends who just had babies! Such a special and happy time. I can’t wait to meet the little guys.
- Shopping. Teehee. Black Friday and Cyber Monday for the win! Be sure to keep up with all of the sales and gift picks over here – I’m going to be the gift MASTER this year. 😉
