One of my most-worn closet items is my black slip dress.
Even with a growing baby belly, my Cuyana black slip dress in particular is practical, style-savvy, and an absolute closet essential. There are just so many ways to wear it! If you’ve ever wondered how to style a slip dress – beyond standard heels or booties, of course – you’ve come to the right place. I’ve had my slip dress for years now and have worn mine countless ways. Here are some of my favorites!
One note about this specific Cuyana dress, shown in the pictures. It’s an investment, but it’s so worth it. (Transparently – I was gifted this item by Cuyana.) I’ve had a few slip dresses before this one and have found them to be so figure-hugging that they’re not practical for everyday wear, fall apart after a few times of wearing them, or show too many details on behalf of their fit. This particular one is made from 100% silk, and has a silhouette that’s not figure-hugging while still creating a feminine shape. I’ve worn it everywhere from exploring on vacations, to dropping my kiddos off at school, to weddings, and even just around the house. No matter how I wear it, it makes me feel like a million bucks! And I love that I can even still wear it with a belly. 😉
If the price tag is out of your range, here are some great options to consider. These are all from brands who focus on sustainability – double bonus! Everlane Long Slip Dress (Only $88!) + Amour Vert Medine Slip Dress (Under $100!)
