After getting engaged, one of the first major decisions that I wanted to tackle was asking bridesmaids to be in my wedding. The question for me wasn’t who to ask, but how to ask. I wanted my own little proposal to be unique, thoughtful and express just how much my special ladies mean to me.
While perusing the internet for ideas, I came across this gold friendship ring from Blue Ridge Notions. Like so many feel with love, I just knew. A knot ring to ask the most important women in my life to help me tie the knot? It can only be described with a hash tag: #NailedIt.
And so I devised my plan to ask, ordered a plethora of rings (I guessed on the ring sizes in order to surprise the girls) with the help of Blue Ridge’s shop owner, Kelly (who hand makes every ring and did an amazing job) and gathered the additional necessities: Stationary, twine, and a poem that I wrote myself.
I found my stationary at Paper Source, which proved to be the hardest task as I was like a kid in a candy store, trying to pick out my favorite. I ended up going with a fun and colorful option – two elephants holding trunks – because I felt this option showed the most personality. The poems were slightly different for every girl that I asked in order to personalize them appropriately.
…There you have it! A fun little DIY created just for my 9 leading ladies, who I love so dearly. <3
