Happy Thanksgiving! We’re spending the holiday weekend in Michigan, enjoying time with our family and friends. Last night we had a quiet dinner with our immediate family, then our friends Jess, Tom, Smigs and Justin came by to catch up. This morning I woke up to the smell of quiche and roasting coffee, helped my mom make apple pies, and we’re heading to my grandparent’s house later where our extended family is gathering to celebrate. It’s the coziest day and one in which I can’t stop thinking, “There’s no place like home.” Tomorrow, we have a big Friendsgiving brunch to see all our buddies from Michigan, and then are spending the rest of the weekend with Doug’s family. Every year they throw a big Saturday-after-Thanksgiving gathering, and I can’t wait to catch up with everyone. Whew – whirlwind, right?! But it’s a whirlwind of the best kind.
Before I put away my computer for the rest of the day, I wanted to take a moment and attempt to express my deepest gratitude. I’m always happy to see warm messages of thanks and love filling my social feed on days like today; it makes me smile to see that people appreciate the positives in their lives.I certainly have much to be thankful for; love, family, friendship and health being the primary, although the list expands so far beyond what I could ever write. Particularly when I look at Doug, Gracie and our growing family, my heart nearly bursts with pride and gratitude. I know how lucky I am to have such blessings in my life and hope to never take my fortune for granted. Most of all, I hope to act and live in a way that expresses my thankfulness every day, not just today.
I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to you, for reading Isn’t That Charming. Your continued support means so much, and truly keeps me encouraged to keep writing this blog. So whether it’s a simple click to read a post, comment, or a “like” on social media, know that I appreciate it wholeheartedly and consider you a friend. Thank you, thank you for following along.
Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving! May your heart be filled with love today and every day.
