Once upon a fall, a woman looked at the last day of October with her fall bucket list in hand and said….
WTF. How is it already November tomorrow?!?!
Ah! You thought this was the start of a fairy tale, I see. Nope. Not here. Quite the opposite. It’s a reality check, in fact.
Fall is falling away! The changing leaves are bringing a new season! HOW MANY CHEESY WAYS CAN I SAY IT?! I mean, okay yes, we still have November and some of December. But let’s be honest there. Once the radio stations start playing Christmas music – which is in like 3 days – it’s the holiday season. No longer “Fall”, despite December 20 being the official last day of it. Am I right or am I right?
Doesn’t this season always feels so fast?! Especially with the prolonged summer we had this year, it seems like fall just arrived, and all of a sudden the forecast is predicting snow in the next few days?! That’s the Midwest for ya! Better get on that fall bucket list before the holidays pop up. (To which we checked off many of our items when we visited Blake’s Cider Mill a few weeks back!)
I always love a great list of sorts, so I thought it’d be fun to put together a list of my favorite fall things. These are in no particular order – and really, the below is a trail-of-thought brainstorm of all we’ve done and all we have left to do before the holidays – but regardless, these are the things that make the season happy for me. (I’m proud to say we’ve already checked off a good majority of this so far!) They help to make up my ideal “fairy tale fall,” if you will. (There’s that cheese again, sorrryyyyy.)

Speaking of #16 above, let’s chat this outfit for a second.
I love me a cozy cable knit sweater. The one I’m wearing is the Fisherman Sweater from LL Bean, which I’ve had for years. It’s a classic — one that every woman should own. I love that this version comes in many different colors, too. I’m eyeing the Shadow Blue and Grey Lavender!
Here, I paired it with white jeans (YES they still work past Labor Day!), cowgirl boots (LOVE this version!), brown leather jacket and plaid scarf. It was the perfect fall outing outfit, and truth be told, a version of this has been on repeat a lot lately. (While my chunky sweaters still fit over my growing belly, that is!)
What’s on your “Fairy Tale Fall” list?! Have you gotten to check some of it off this season so far, or do you have a long way to go?
