Sticks & stones may brake your bones, but they also lend to some great DIY materials so don’t hate on them too much.
This DIY Candle “Stick” Holder is the perfect present for winter lovers & those who appreciate rustic decor. When its lit it exudes warmth & comfort – a “cabin in the woods” cozy feel. I can see this displayed on a fireplace mantle surrounded by holiday cheer & stockings.
Directions after the jump!
Materials Needed:
1. Wide Glass Jar & Base (I got mine from Michaels)
2. Twine
3. Wrapped wire – I used one that looked “natural” to match the sticks
4. Hot glue gun
5. Sticks
Clean sticks in warm, soapy water and let dry. Cut or break to appropriate size, varying the length slightly. Glue sticks one by one to the glass with the hot glue gun.
After all the sticks are glued onto the glass, wrap twine around the sticks. I chose to do this around the top and bottom of the glass. To secure the sticks further & complete the rustic feel I used wire around the middle.
…And you’re done!
Now wrap your present & have the recipient open with a cup of egg nog by a cozy fire.

What a clever idea! I’d love to have this in my apartment 🙂
This is so great. It goes perfectly with a rustically decorated home…I bet you could even spray pain the wood for a different look. Great DIY!
