Happy October 1! In honor of this month, I wanted to share a quick & easy DIY project to jazz up your pumpkin.
I was gifted my pumpkin after Doug’s mom purchased it on behalf of a family raising money for their daughter who has cancer. They referred to it as a “Cinderella Pumpkin”, and thus I decorated it accordingly.
Can’t you see a glass slipper sitting beneath the glitter + ivy?
Click “Read More” below for directions + more pumpkin-decorating ideas!
Make sure your pumpkin is clean & free of dirt. Place paper bags or other floor protection below your work space. |
Use a medium-to-small size paint brush and apply glue. (I used generic Tacky Glue) Use thicker glue at the top and fade it when you’ve reached your desired sparkle length. |
Sprinkle the glitter over your wet glue. I chose to do this section by section to ensure the glue didn’t dry. |
Once all of the glitter is on the top of your pumpkin, let the glue fully dry and gently wipe off all excess glitter. |
Take fake (or real!) ivy and cut long pieces. You can purchase fake ivy at any craft supply store. |
Wrap the pieces of ivy around the top. Let select pieces hang from the pumpkin to create a “Just Picked” effect. |
…and there you have it! A lovely “Cinderella Pumpkin”.

How cute! I don’t have the patience for carving but this might be right up my alley! Glitter makes everything a little better.
What a cute idea – and I haven’t even seen it on Pinterest (I find that quite refreshing)! Your blog is adorable and I love, love, love you header. Did someone design it for you or did you do it yourself?

Thanks Megan! I designed it myself but I got the illustration off of Pinterest!
Oh cute! I love pumpkins, but haven’t decorated one before. I also like the one with light dots in it–it’s like a pumpkin disco ball!
Super cute! Love that it is officially fall. Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂

how cute!! you’re inspiring me to glitterize a bunch of mini pumpkins!
What a great idea! I’m not a big fan of carving pumpkins because the insides freak me out so this is a great alternative. Glitter makes everything better imo 😉

Who says pumpkins are just for carving?! Loving the idea of switching it up this year. The glitter is everything. love.

That’s really cute and cool! Halloween isn’t so big here in Australia, which I think is a pity because it seems pretty fun~
I like your blog, and I’ve followed you, it would mean so much if you could follow back 🙂

That glittery pumpkin is SUCH an adorable idea! I don’t normally decorate for Halloween (or any holiday, for that matter), but this makes me rethink it. Love the Cinderella throwback.
