It all started with a bright red dresser.
Doug found it online, and given it was a major steal, he surprised me with it for the baby’s nursery. (This was back when we were still undecided on names!) I saw it as an exciting design challenge: how would I make a red dresser work well in the same space as the grey/blue glider we already had, and have it not look American flag themed? (Too many whites or neutrals could have easily made it go that route.) My solution: add more color to the mix.
More is more when done right, ya?
I’ve always loved a bohemian twist, whether it be in home decor or personal style, and so putting together a nursery themed as such was fun. My favorite parts of course include the red dresser with the turquoise knobs because it’s such an unexpected decor twist for a nursery, but I’m equally in love with the palm leaf and ocean water prints from Minted, which help pull together the room and no doubt will work anywhere in the house down the road.
Turns out, it was the perfect nursery theme for Josephine Bloom since it matches her personality like a glove. Laid back, yet full of personality. Relaxed, but never at the expense of vibrancy. Happy.
I hope you enjoy our little tour! Be sure to scroll through to the bottom of this post – I’ve linked many of the exact nursery details and similar finds, too!
