You know those trips where you return asking yourself what just happened? That describes my L.A. adventure in a nutshell. It was exhausting, thrilling, fun, intense, and stressful at the same time – a complete whirlwind that included working non-stop, exploring Paramount Studios, and shaking hands with celebrities.
For those that may not know, I’m work in social media at DDB, an advertising agency in Chicago. The main account that I work on is McDonald’s, in which I’m in charge of managing their Facebook and YouTube accounts. Recently they launched a new product line, the Premium McWrap, and threw a Hollywood launch party in its honor. I was thrilled to tag along and help work the event, in which some key highlights are below!
Highlight III :: Working The Green Carpet
One of my key roles at the event was to greet celebrities on the green carpet and encourage them to share their party experience on social media. It. Was. Awesome. My favorites were Kyle Richards (Yes! Mauricio was with her and he’s even more handsome in person) and Ross Mathews. Both were really laid back and approachable.
I wish I had the opportunity to get more pictures, but our team was running around the whole time. I was able to snag one worth sharing….

It looks like you guys had such a great time! I love Cali. It’s funny how watching people on TV makes you forget that they live normal lives too, isn’t it!?

That’s hilarious that you met Scott! I would love to work in social media someday, I’ve been looking for open opportunities (sadly there isn’t much out there with our crappy job market). Love your red carpet photo 🙂
ummm you have the coolest job ever!! What a fun event. I would have had my jaw on the ground the entire time.
oh, and I love that your main account is mcdonalds because (and this may sound weird…) I have never been more in love with mcdonalds than I have been this past year. There is zero western food in my city and it’s sooo worth the hour and a half train ride and long taxi ride to get a double cheeseburger. seriously. The first time my friends and I got mcdonalds in Asia, one of my guys friends cried. So yeah, mcdonalds holds a special place in my heart haha.
What an awesome work trip–you go, rockstar! The event looks amazing, and I just need to know–how was Scott in real life? I don’t watch much Kardashian shitz (I really can’t stand them) but I’m really curious!
What a super exciting experience for you! You really do have the best job ever! I would love to meet Khloe K, she seems so down to earth – plus her shoe collection is INSANE.
Whenever I go to MacDonalds it’s always a cheeseburger and my partner is baffled – but they really are that good, might have to try one of these new wraps though, LOVE WRAPS. I’m sure they’ll launch them in the UK.

How exciting! What a fabulous job to have!! i love your relaxed reaction to the “stars” I totally would have done the same while bursting on the inside with excitement! Love your green carpet pose!
This looks like such an amazing trip. So many people come to CA and don’t even get to see a celebrity and end up disappointed. Glad you got the full LA experience. It’s so fun to see bloggers in different environments than you are used to seeing them in.
wow, looks like you had so much fun!! such great photos! i’ve never been to LA before.

OH my goodness- I am so jealous of your trip and job! I work in Marketing/Social Media, but in the Chicago burbs in nonprofit (although I used to work at Starcom a couple years back! The coolest thing I got to partake in was a private Backstreet Boys concert lol.)

Can’t wait to hear all about this! Looks like so much fun!:)
This looks like so much fun! Glad you had such a good time, I don’t think I would have been so cool around the celebrities though…! xx
Wow Em, this is so cool and I absolutely love the decor. You pretty much have my dream job so I love hearing about your professional adventures. AND I love grilled chicken wraps from McDonald’s haha. I sub in plain mustard for the ranch sauce and they become a decently healthy option for eating on the go! I will look for these in Canada.
