Our living room decor is finally completed!
Can you believe it?! I’m beyond excited to share a visual tour of the end result with you today.
If you’ve been following along for a while, you know it’s been a journey to get this room completed. When we first moved in at the end of October, we had no furniture in it. I’m talking zero. So, picking furniture and decor has been a huge process because we quite literally had to start from scratch.
We wanted to prioritize choosing pieces we love and that we know we’ll have for a long time. The pieces we went with are ones we see taking us through the next 10+ years. After coming from a small city apartment, to which most of our furniture items were hand-me-downs from family members, this was the first time we got to be selective and really curate our choices from the ground up. And, I’ve got to say, though it took a long time…I loved it!
I feel like I’ve ignited a new-found passion for style and decor with this house.
Before I share the full room tour, I thought it’d be fun to show you some “Before” photos. It’s crazy to see the before and after — it really brings to life just how far this place has come!

In terms of decorating style, I had a few words in mind that I wanted to lean into: Colorful, bright, happy, comfortable. While I like the all-neutral and bright white rooms that are ever-popular right now, I personally love to play with color. I also felt like it’d be a fun challenge to really embrace a different style. More Anthro than Restoration, if you will.
My goal for our house is for every room to convey a feeling of, well, charm! Which is a subjective term, but for our family, a charming room means one that we all feel happy and comfortable in. One we want to share.
It was equally a fun project and learning experience for me to lean into items with bold colors. For me, the white walls really helped to create a blank canvas to which we could bring to life multiple colors all at once. Pinks, blues, oranges, greens, and metallics, to name a few. I went through a lot of trial and error to get a look that really started to jive; in a lot of ways I feel like this room is my first real go at having an interior decor baby. (Ha!)
Here is the end result. A bright, boho-style interior decor room that makes us so happy! I hope you love as much as we do.

Focal point items
White Chairs // “Caitlin” by The Everygirl c/o Interior Define. Fabric color is “Swan” and the legs are brass. You may think I’m crazy for getting white chairs but when I searched for “Kid friendly” materials and this color popped up, I was intrigued! I can attest the fabric is super easy to clean!
Sapphire Blue Velvet Couch // Ms. Chesterfield c/o Interior Define. “Sapphire Mod Velvet” fabric.
**Quick moment to pause on Interior Define. I really can’t get over how amazing the above chairs and couch are! They really help to make this room. I love their modern, sophisticated design, and the fact that we could customize the fabrics and details to be exactly what we wanted was amazing. I have lots more to share here, and am planning a full post on the company soon, but wanted to note this in the meantime!**

…And there you have it!
I personally feel like the decorating process is an evolution, so I’m hesitant to say this is “done”, however it’s in a place where we feel really great about where it’s at currently! I’m excited to tackle the next rooms in the house and bring those to life, too.
Next up: Finishing the kitchen and dining room. Those are *almost* done and are shaping up to be equally as bright and cheerful as the living room. I can’t wait to share more!

Aw thank you so much!!! Was beyond fun to put together – love challenging myself to use a little color and not shy away from it. 🙂
