AHH!!!!!
I’m pregnant with baby #3, and our family couldn’t be more excited! It feels so good to finally be sharing the news; we’ve been absolutely bursting at the seams to tell you!
I’m officially 15 weeks as of last Friday, which means that the baby is currently the size of an apple.
Gotta love those baby apps that tell you each week how your baby measures up to fruits, ha! Call us cheesy, but a family photoshoot at an apple orchard felt only fitting, giving the timing of the season. 😉
As we’ve been slowly telling those close to us, we’ve gotten lots of questions. I thought I’d answer the most-asked ones here, in case you are wondering similar ones, too! Here’s a quick Q & A about this little miracle growing in my belly. xx
When is the due date?
March 13, 2020. As of this week, I’m 15 weeks along!
Was this a Greece baby?!
I crack up every time this is asked because this is literally the first question most people ask us. And, no! We tried in Greece, and had been for a few months, but our little miracle baby came after we returned.
How do you feel?
I definitely had my moments during my first trimester — nausea, extreme fatigue, and occasionally having trouble sleeping — but overall I have no complaints. I’ll do a full post on my first trimester experiences and updates soon!
Had you been trying for a third?
YES! We’ve always known we’d go for a third – it was just a matter of when. After a crazy year of moves and transitions last year, we finally felt settled and ready to tackle a new adventure. We had talked a lot about when the “right” timing would be, and agreed we’d start to try in the Spring. Now, here we are!
Are you finding out the gender?
Duh! There’s no way we could wait until the baby is born to know the gender – we’re just too curious! Plus, Doug said he needs months to prep if baby #3 is a girl, and I said the same if baby #3 is a boy. Ha!
We actually already know the gender, and will announce it next week! Any guesses? 😉
When did the bump start to show?
All of a sudden, over the past week or so, I just *popped*. It happened much sooner this time than my last two pregnancies, when I wasn’t really showing until around 18 – 20 weeks! Even though I only recently noticeably popped however, I have to say, I have personally seen changes to my body from what feels like the moment I got pregnant this time around. It’s been hard to dress for a long time now — I haven’t been able to wear most of the jeans I own and have been rotating lots of dresses. Guess my body just knew what to do!
Have any of you noticed?! I’ve tried to be sneaky with my angles and outfits, but I’m sure you may have noticed especially on Instagram that I’ve been more quiet in sharing things like outfits of the day.
By the way — Can you see the bump in this picture?! One of my best friends messaged me and was like, “Heads up on that photo you posted, I totally see the bump!” We laughed about it and wondered how many of you may have noticed, too!
Are you going to be done at three?
Another question that is most asked. I don’t know why but this always surprises me, probably because we’re honestly just taking things one day at a time.
I used to say I wanted 4 kids (I know – some of you thought I was crazy!) but now I feel like three *could* be our magic number. Life is crazy right now with two toddlers, and I can only imagine how much crazier it’ll feel once baby #3 is born. I know how absolutely fortunate we are that we have been given the opportunity to have three kids, and we just currently feel so complete with where we’re at. Right now we’re focused on a healthy, happy third baby – and happy, healthy family. We have no idea how we’ll feel about more in the future. Which feels perfectly okay for now!
How did Grace and Josephine react to the news?
They were the first people we told! This actually deserves a full post because it’s a funny story, so more to come here. But in short, they’re both excited! I think Grace *gets* it, but Joey is still a little confused by it all and doesn’t fully understand.
We talk about the baby a lot, and have been very open about everything with them. They’re also both fascinated lately by my growing belly. The other day Grace said, “Mommy, your belly is getting bigger, and so is your butt.” We had a good laugh over that one!
Are you going to stay in your house?
Oh heck yes. There will be zero moving for the foreseeable future! The challenge with our house is that it’s only a 3 bedroom. Easy solve: Grace and Josephine will be sharing a room. Joey will be making the move to Grace’s move, and her room will become the baby’s nursery. We’re planning on having them make the transition this fall!
HUGE thanks to everyone who has sent congratulatory messages and well wishes our way! We appreciate them more than you know. We’re beyond excited, and feel so fortunate, for this grand adventure as our family grows. <3
PS – For anyone who’s new here, I thought it’d be fun to share our announcement for when I was pregnant with Josephine (Can you believe how LITTLE Gracie looks?!) + our announcement for when I was pregnant with Gracie. Both feel like forever ago!
