The Truth About Maternity Leave (Hint: It’s Not A “Vacation”)
Over the past few weeks, particularly in the work environment, I’ve had people — both men and women — light-heartedly say something along the lines of, “You’re so lucky, when the baby comes you get a 3 month vacation!” while referring to my upcoming maternity leave. Each time, I’ve been taken aback and honestly haven’t been sure how to react.
Vacation?! Hold up, hold up. Let’s pause right there and set the record straight.

Greenery State Of Mind
2017 vibes: All things fresh. Which is why it’s so fitting for Pantone to have their color of the year be Greenery. It’s symbolic of new beginnings, and channels restoration and renewal. As nature’s neutral, there’s no better color to embrace if you’re looking to be revitalized. Kuddos, Pantone. Nice choice.

Happy Holidays!
Sipping my morning coffee, I’m currently in my pajamas, sitting in a weathered leather chair that feels like a massive pillow, in a sunroom overlooking snow-covered trees. There’s a toy train riding along the exterior of the room that Gracie has deemed her new favorite pastime to watch while yelling, “Choo-choo!” Christmas carols are crooning quietly in the background, and though I know every lyric, they don’t seem to get old.
