Greetings from Austin in the most amazing Free People dress!
You guys. If there is one dress that you need this spring, this Free People dress is it.
Soft and romantic, flowy and feminine, and flattering in all the right ways. I love the rose pink color, but it also comes in black, white and golden. I know this sounds a little overkill, but I’m thinking of getting this in black, too! It’s just that good, and the design is one that I know will last for years and years.
I’ll be honest: Sometimes Free People can sticker-shock me. But, I was pleasantly surprised that this dress is at the $100 mark! Which is a commitment for sure, but definitely worth it considering how much wear it’ll get.
We had a lovely welcome dinner last night to attend, and so I pulled out this fabulous little number. I paired it with my Dolce Vita Raffia Mules, of which I also can’t recommend enough because they’re so comfortable and literally go with anything. And speaking of things I can’t get enough of, these Barbados earrings are so lovely for warm weather! They’re wood hoops and have a lucite circle on the top that glams them up a bit. Surprise, surprise – I also layered my new favorite necklaces with this dress — the Starburst Coin Pendant Necklace with the Luca Necklace. Layers are my jam lately, can you tell?! My beaded Area Stars purse brought some fun pops of color to the look!
Okay, back to exploring Austin!
But, wait…
Wasn’t I just in Florida?! Yes. It’s confusing.
Let me explain/share the itinerary between Florida/Austin because I know it’s like….what?!!
- April 1 – 5 – Florida with Em’s dad’s side
- April 6 – 11 – Florida with Em’s mom’s side
- But also….
- April 5 – 8 – Em and Doug in Austin (My parents are watching Gracie and Jo!)
Last week Monday, I flew to Florida with Gracie and Jo, and we stayed with my dad’s side of the family. My mom’s side also vacations there, and the dates typically coincide with my dad’s vacation since it’s always around spring break time, so we try to stay with both. That’s where Gracie and Jo are now, and where we’re staying next week when we return from Austin! (Fun fact for any new readers out there: My parents are divorced, which makes for some often-confusing family situations, ha!)
We’re here for my friend Lauren’s wedding. Lauren and I were sorority sisters, studied abroad in Rome together, and lived in Chicago at the same time, so we go way, way back. So, here we are in Austin for the weekend, and we can’t wait for all the wedding festivities and to explore this amazing city. (It’s my first time here – heyyo!)
It’s stormy out today, so most of our plans have been thrown out the window. We’re thinking of visiting a museum and maybe even getting tattoos?! (I know – threw in a curve ball there.) TBD if Doug and I chicken out or not. 😉 Direct message me on Instagram if you have any recos! xx

Such a pretty dress and I love those Dolce Vita slides! So the real question is did you get a tattoo?! If you shared it on stories I must have missed it!
