Between mothering, work, and all things life, I’ve been largely on the stagnant side this past year when it comes to physical activity. I mean, I suppose carrying two kids up and down the stairs of our apartment, chasing them through our halls, and having tickle marathons technically counts as being active. But, lately I’ve been craving a good sweat. I ache to, well, ache. To be out of breathe, push myself, indulge in a long stretch, and even have lingering muscle aches from a job well done. Do you know what I mean?
In a past life (ahem…pre kids), I ran on the regular. Doug and I were on volleyball leagues with our buddies, I’d go to the gym a few times a week, yoga was a regular friend of mine, and working out didn’t feel so…I don’t know…daunting. Now, to take even a half hour for the task feels nearly impossible with the craziness of morning and night routines with our little family in tow.
But, I’m motived to change that. To help, I invested in some adorable work out gear, including an adorable matching set from Athleta, which I took on a trial run (pun intended) while in Florida. (Also got these joggers and can’t get over how comfortable they are!)
I love running on the beach; there’s just something about zoning out with your headphones in coupled with the waves crashing next to you that is so motivating. Er…okay, in this case it was a brisk walk. But, hey, I got out there. I’m trying to keep in mind that you don’t have to go fast. You have to just go.
All that’s so say, I see what the craze is about athletic gear. (Even wore some jazzy new pants over the weekend from Lysse, and loved how comfortable I was all day.) Call it the blogger in me, but it was definitely motivating to have something cute to wear while breaking a sweat. There’s just something about looking the part to fully feel invested, you know?

Schedule it- like you would any other meeting! For me, if I put it on the calendar it has to happen since I’m so over-scheduled. Ha! It works!
