I had a Pumpkin Spice Latte this week, so I knew it was coming. Fall. September 22 is the official start of the season, and despite me still scratching my head while wondering where summer went, I’m excited.
As much as I like to complain about the shortening of days and cooling temperatures, I really do love living in a place where there are seasons. I find that the constant change makes me appreciate every season’s positive sides that much more — while I’ll no longer be able to jump in the lake in a few weeks, I can drive down brightly-colored roads where the leaves are all turning. Both are good for the soul.
Fall has so many things that I love.
Sweater weather. Pumpkin patches. Apple picking. I’ll make a bucket list soon, I promise.
Personally, I’m going to enjoy a more consistent routine over the next few months. With the girls settling into their day cares/schools, and our house *almost* ready to be moved into, I’m excited to really embrace some normalcy around these parts. The changing of a season always represents a “reset” of sorts for me. I like to make it a habit to stop, evaluate where I’m at, and be honest with myself about changes that I, too, would like to see.
…Which brings me to a little bit of a tease for you. I have a big change coming, and I’m spilling all the details on Monday! So, be sure to check in. Hate to leave you hanging at that, but trust me, it deserves its own post. 😉
Until then, enjoy the official start of fall this weekend. Doug is away at his yearly guy’s golf outing, and Gracie, Josephine and I are heading to Saugatuck with my dad’s side of the family. We have cousins in from Australia, and can’t wait to show them one of our favorite Michigan towns. Be sure to follow along on Instagram, if you’re not already!
PS – I embraced Anthropologie style to the max with this adorable outfit! I recently added this beautiful beret to my wardrobe, and I can’t wait to wear it more as the temperatures cool. Also, this skirt is currently on sale and would be so cute paired with a chunky sweater, don’t you think?!
