Happy Day-After-Mother’s-Day Monday!
How are we feeling today? Pampered, I hope? At a minimum…well rested?
My Mother’s Day was lovely — Doug, Grace and Jo surprised me with flowers and cards, we went to my mom’s for breakfast, swung by a local art fair, and then had family over for dinner. I even indulged in a mid-day nap and cuddle session with Gracie, and it was so nice just to chill. But then last night Doug and I stayed up late to watch Game of Thrones and were so mind-blown that we couldn’t stop chatting about it for at least an hour after, so it ended up being a late night. (Anyone else a fan?! Can we believe Daenerys?! I’m still in shock.)
I have to say….can May get here already?! I mean, I know it’s “here”…but it’s not really present. This month has been like trying to talk to someone while they’re in the midst texting. I feel like tapping on the month’s shoulder and saying, “Hey! Uh…it’d be nice you could join us in Springtime, okay?”
To shed a little light for those who aren’t in the Midwest, it’s been consistently rainy and 40 to 50 degrees out, which just feels like a drab. Always better than snow, of course, but we’re mere weeks away from June and I’m simply ready for the sunshine. So consider this my big plea to the universe to deliver more of it.
I can’t complain, though. Greece is next week. Internal Monologue: “HOLY S*#$.” HOW is that trip here already?! Ahhh!
Plus, at least in Michigan all the trees are blooming. Even though the skies are grey, there’s color popping up everywhere, and I felt it only appropriate to dress to match the surroundings. I really didn’t have a reason to dress up on this particular day…no meetings, no big to-do’s. Just a really fun Anthropologie midi skirt and top I got recently on sale that was dying to be worn. Some days, you just want to have a little fun!
Speaking of fun…I’ve got a post for every day this week, so be sure to swing back on the regular! xx
:: OUTFIT DETAILS ::
Skirt: Pixelated Tulle Midi Skirt. You guys know I love me an Anthropologie midi skirt – they’re always so colorful and different than you’d find anywhere else. This one is on sale right now for under $100. Romantic, but with a twist. The embroidered floral pattern is so pretty! | Top: Brea Sweater Tank. Perfect for those in-between days! I’ve also worn this with jeans and high waisted pants; all styles are really elegant. The color is a nice neutral but the pops of pinks, oranges and yellows add some personality. Also on sale right now for under $50! This sweater tank is another lovely option. | Purse: Acrylic Basket Bag. How much fun is this?! | Sunglasses: Heart shaped sunglasses. Here are similar pink options for only $10! | Heels: The Everlane Day Heel. I can’t rave about these enough! I’ve had mine for over a year and they’re probably the most worn heels in my closet. So comfortable and they go with everything. As someone who’s tall, I love that the heel adds length without being too high.
PS – My favorite Free People dress for spring/summer + Why you need a pair of step-hem ankle jeans.
