Time To Bring Out Your Whites!
May’s just around the corner, spring is blooming everywhere, and the time is now to embrace wearing white! (I actually subscribe to the belief that white is a year-round color if you wear it correctly, but I digress.) While there are many people who are holding off on wearing white until after Memorial Day, I’m here to tell you that you shouldn’t be one of them. White is such a powerful style tool that is stunning when embraced!
White can be intimidating in general, and the notion of wearing all white can be particularly scary. Anything monochromatic is a commitment, after all! And of course, there’s the fear that white shows more than other colors — from a dirt and general wear stand point of course, but let’s be honest, from a general body standpoint, too! (I’ve totally been victim to my underwear being highlighted with white pants – whoops!) Legit concerns, and I will say that the actual white items you choose are important — too thin of fabric causes issues, no doubt, but that issue can be alleviated by simply being picky. If you’re wearing items that are quality and you feel comfortable in, an all white outfit is so worth the dry cleaning bill. 😉
Plus, I’m going to let you in on a little fashion secret that I embrace and find to have such a chic, eye-catching effect. Here it is.
Wearing an all white outfit elongates your body.
Particularly with a pant suit, or pairing a white top and bottoms together, wearing all white is a chic choice that will never go out of style. This is because it creates an elongated vertical line, helping to accentuate your shape and create a clean look that’s simple yet eye-catching.
This look is also so versatile. You can literally pair it with any accessory combination that you can imagine. Heels, flats, or sneakers. (By the way, pairing this with sneakers is SO fun.) A cardigan, jean jacket, leather jacket or no jacket. Colorful jewelry or keep it bare. Hair up or down. All white is basically (literally!) a blank canvas, so besides an all black outfit, it is one of the most versatile options you could wear.
Most importantly, an all white look is one that exudes confidence, which is always most important in any outfit!
An Exciting Event With Macy’s + Outfit Details
In these photos, I embraced an all white outfit in celebration of a really exciting event I’m hosting with Macy’s this weekend!
First, let’s chat about the event. Macy’s and I are hosting a spring fashion show on Saturday, 4/27, from 1 – 3 pm, at Somerset Mall in Troy, MI! It’ll be complete with a runway, models showcasing the latest trends (spoiler alert: white is one of them!), personal shopping, DJ, and mocktails. I’d love to see you there, if you’re in the Detroit area! If not, be sure to follow along on Instagram, where I’ll be sharing lots of behind the scenes.
Back to this outfit! Here, I’m wearing all INC clothing, which is Macy’s clothing brand. The pants are the INC wide leg, high waist pants and the top is a white t-shirt with faux pearl details on the sleeves. Simple, easy and chic! I paired my all white outfit with some these high heels, which I really can’t get over. They’re so vibrant and full of personality — the detailing on the back heels are insanely cool. Those colors! And, would you believe me if I told you they’re under $100? True story. Go get ’em!
Are you a fan of wearing all white? What are your favorite ways to style the look? Would love to hear in the comments below!
