In our tiny city apartment there is a gallery wall showcased above our green leather couch. The mismatched frames are often crooked and one breezy day with the windows open from falling off, a result of yours truly hanging them, but it’s probably one of my favorite things in the apartment. The pictures are ever-evolving as they’re curated from snapshots like this & this – little moments in time when we threw obligation aside to enjoy time with our favorite people and each other. We refer to it fondly as our adventure wall, a title fitting as it encompasses the mind frame that both Doug and I like to keep at the forefront of our minds every day.
You may be wondering why I chose to write an adventure wall post on a day that’s dedicated to love. That’s easy. It’s because, to me, love is made up of the little moments where life is truly lived together, a notion that the wall is a constant reminder of. It’s kisses, laughing, fights, annoyances, hugs, deep chats, comfortable silences, staying in, going out, new experiences, dancing, embracing independence, holding hands, and constant growing. It’s not a fairy tale, it’s a hilarious & wild ride, and I consider myself the epitome of lucky to have found someone to enjoy that ride with.
We’ve been together since we were 19 years old. We’re different people than we were in the beginning of our relationship or even a year ago. I can’t say we’ve been through everything, but we’ve been through a lot, and I’m proud of us for evolving together and embracing the notion of change, in life and one another. It’s undoubtedly been a daring adventure, and I hope it continues to be.
After all, at the end of the day, when it truly comes down to it, new faces, places, things and experiences are absolutely secondary to life’s grandest adventure of them all: Love.

I like your beautiful adventure wall! It’s a good idea for our house; we have plenty of walls that need to be covered. I might do something similar…
