Dress: Floral button dress from Evereve. So flattering and I love the 70s vibe. (My mom noted she remembers wearing almost this exact dress when she was younger!) | Cardigan: Every girl’s gotta have a blush cardigan in her closet! It’s so versatile and comfy. Similar here and here. | Booties: Nude pointy toed booties. Exact pair sold out, however you can shop similar finds here. I’m crazy about these ones from Stuart Weitzman, and how pretty are these lace ones?! | Necklace: Circle Lariat Necklace
Alright, so yea, I was absolutely freezing while shooting these pictures. But the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and from the inside looking out you could have mistook it for a different month. There were even birds. Birds! In February! Swimming, no less.
It’s the little things when you’re at the tail end of winter, my friends.
Of course, we got hit with more than a foot of snow days later. Guess what? I still wore an outfit fit for 50+ degree days anyways. I looked ridiculous, was cold, and got lots of wide-eyed “Oh wow, she’s crazy ambitious” looks, but I didn’t care. You gotta start spring somewhere and I figured a snowy day in February was as good as any.
That’s how it goes, right? You dress for spring and then it comes? That’s always how it always happens for me, at least. (Yes, I’m usually in the “Officially over winter” boat by February every year.)
Until my subtle (wishing for spring) and not-so-subtle (dressing for spring) pleas actually are heard, you can find me over here in my own little world. Here, there are darling floral button dresses on repeat, nude booties and comfy blush cardigans that I’ll swear keep me warm enough despite a slight shiver.
Just go with it, okay? My attempts just may work. One of these days it’ll be nice and spring-like outside and you’ll be like, “THANK YOU EMILY FOR CONVINCING MOTHER NATURE IT’S TIME.” By then, I’ll likely already be onto summer, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it. 😉
