Planned shoots are fun, but let’s be honest, life is lived in the every day. In my efforts to be posting more consistently over here, I’m going to be introducing some regular posts that showcase some of those “Outfits of the day” looks and finds that are often overlooked! I’m even toying with a weekend recap post that showcases that week’s real outfits. Thoughts?
Ponder that, and in the meantime, here’s a roundup of 10 real outfits I’ve worn recently!
I figure this is a great way to showcase how I’m styling items different ways, and also to show you how more every day outfit staples are regularly incorporated into daily looks.
Also — Note to self: Get a better selfie mirror. 😉
Long Maxi Dress (Under $25!) + Chuck Taylor Low Top Sneakers
THIS DRESS IS THE REAL MVP. Comfortable, flattering, and under $25. (What the what?!) I’ve worn a version of this outfit so many times over the past few months — paired with sandals, as shown in this Instagram post, and paired with sneakers, as shown above. I’ve also layered a jean jacket over it, on day when it’s a bit chillier. You can also wear it as a beach cover up!
PS – Amazon has been killing it lately. I also recently got this pack of headbands, and they’re so cute!
Black Step-Hem Ankle Jeans + White Blouse + Stella + Ruby Statement Earrings
My Mother Step-Hem Ankle Jeans are probably my most-worn pants recently. (Can summer please get here already?!) They’re worth every penny! I wrote about why I love them here, if you’re interested. On this day I paired them with a white blouse – shown above is past season but I also have this Madewell one that I love, which looks super cute especially when tied in the middle. Shoes are my Everlane mules, which are past season but these Editor Slingbacks are similar. OH! And these Stella + Ruby earrings, which are so beautiful! (Wore these earrings in this post, if you’d like to see them dressed up!)
Connelly Sweater + Bell Bottoms + Dolce Vita Shoes
Sweater is almost sold out, but there are so many cute options here. (OMG this lobster cardigan. I can’t even.) Paired the sweater with a bandana scarf tied at the neck and bell bottoms for a 70s-inspired look. Mules are my Dolce Vita straw flats, but a little secret for the deal lovers, a near-exact pair is found here for $25.
Clemente Off-The-Shoulder Romper + Steven Greece Slides
…Added a scarf around my bun and this necklace, too!
Reformation Black Maxi Dress + Steven Greece Slides
Reformation dress is past season, but you can find so many adorable options here. This one and this one are particularly lovely and would give you a similar look to the above. I love Reformation dresses – they’re very flattering and great quality!
Utility Joggers (SO COZY! Get these!!!) + Madewell Cotton Crew Tee + Steven Greece Slides
These joggers are amazing. I think I’ll do a full post on just these soon because I am seriously so impressed with them — great for casual days with the kiddos. Here I paired them with my Madewell Cotton Crew Tee, but I’ve also worn them with a black bodysuit and that pairing was so cute.
Also, can you tell how much I loved these sandals?! They’re so comfortable and can literally be worn with anything. (As shown in this outfit round up!)
Cotton Ruffle Maxi Dress + Everlane Mules
Remember this dress, from this post?! It’s so lovely for summer! Here I paired it with my blush Everlane mules — my exact pair is past season but these Editor Slingbacks are similar.
Cotton Ruffle Maxi Dress + Everlane Mules
Printed Eden Dress + Dolce Vita Shoes
I got this dress from Detroit’s own Good Neighbor and can’t tell you how much I love it! It’s loose and airy, making for the perfect summertime outfit. Here, I wore it to the Bob Seger concert. Dolce Vita straw flats again, but in case you missed this note above, here’s a near-exact pair is found here for $25.
Jean Shorts + Platform Shoes + White Button Down + 1901 White Twill Blazer
Kind of a fun and different look for summer, right?! I’ve been all about platform shoes this year, and white blazers are always ideal for summer months. This blazer is from Nordstrom’s brand 1901 and I love it for its versatility. I wore it over a white button down — shown is past season but this linen option is so cute for summer. If you don’t have a knotted headband, you must! They’re a low-hanging-fruit way to be on trend right now and look darling.
Platform shoes are past season (Shared exact ones in this post!) but I wear these SO MUCH that it’s clear I should invest in more! Here are a few pairs I’ve been eyeing: Vans Platform Slip-On Sneaker + Topshop Leopard Platform Sneakers (OMG YES) + Air Force Sneakers (Cool girl vibe.)
Remember this dress, from this post?! It’s so lovely for summer! Here I paired it with my blush Everlane mules — my exact pair is past season but these Editor Slingbacks are similar.
Green Chino Pants + Black and White Stripe Shirt + Dolce Vita Shoes
A casual outfit for a day with my kiddos! I’ve had these green chino pants for a few years now and definitely think they’re a warm-weather closet staple.
