When the weather warms, there’s something I love to ditch: Socks. Bye, bye, bye! Summer sandals are what I’m wearing 99% of the time – the only exception being working out or the occasional sneaker pairing. With style choices, there is nothing more unappealing than a hot summer day and socks to make it that much more sticky. Which is, of course, where sandals come in!
Every woman needs a few great pairs of sandals — AKA open toed shoes — in her closet. Scratch that, every person needs some! They’re practical, comfortable, and of course help to make an outfit. Over the years, I’ve tried out many pairs, most of which are still in my summer sandal rotation today. It’s always great to have options when it comes to sandals — options for dressing up, down, to the beach, doing yard work, going on walks, and every glorious summer activity in between.
With the sunshine finally here to stay, today I’m excited to share some of the best summer sandals that I’ve tried throughout the years.
10 Of The Best Summer Sandals
Madewell Strap Sandals
I bought my first pair of Madewell sandals when we went to Greece a few years back, and I wore them almost every day of the trip! They were great options to wear when I wanted something light, airy, and stylish. I look at these sandals as go-to’s for everyday wear with jeans! My exact pair is no longer available, however I adore the Boardwalk Two-Strap Sandals + The Amber Sandal. The Cady Lugsole Sandals are very on-trend right now!
Loeffler Randall
My Loeffler Randall Starla Sandals are some of my favorites I’ve ever owned! I think they’re also the pair to which I’ve received the most compliments while wearing. I love these because they look equally as great dressed up as they do down — I’ve worn them with dresses to weddings, to work at the office, date nights, and everywhere in between. Loeffler Randall has so many great dress up options; I am currently swooning over their Daphne Flat Sandals & Emilia Pleated Knot Mules. That bow!
Schutz
My Victorie Slides are the most lovely, versatile sandals that double as playful outfit pairings! I’m not a big heel person, mainly because I’m already very tall, but these are the perfect heel height, shape and design for summer. They’re perfect for any occasion where you need to air on the dressy side. I also love their Ericka Sandals. If you’re looking for a pair with a smaller heel and no cork, Larroude’s Vivi Sandals are a beautiful option!
Birkenstock
You really can’t beat the slip-on-and-off designs of Birkenstocks, and it should be mentioned that every pair I’ve owned is so comfortable! Not only are they easy to wear, but they’re also easy and practical to clean, making them such a great option for places like the beach. (Something that can’t be said for every sandal!) The Arizona Big Buckle Sandals are a favorite + I love the color options in the Arizona EVA Sandals.
Bohme
I have the Reece Sandals, and love these for a more everyday elevated sandal option! They look classy on, and the design is nice because it’s airy while still almost appearing close-toed. Can’t beat the price of these, either!
Tory Burch
I have the Tory Burch Mini Minnie Flip Flops and they’re so comfortable! I love these because they take a standard flip flop and make them chic. They also have a slightly thicker sole than most other flip flops I’ve worn, which means they have added support. These are my lake and beach day go-to’s! I also love the Miller Patent Thong Sandal!
Dolce Vita
My Dolce Vita woven mules are some of my all-time favorite shoes ever, ever, ever. (Okay, so, these aren’t open-toed. But still summer staples! And I sadly can’t find them online, but these are similar!) I love Dolce Vita’s designs — they’re simple and yet so beautiful. Currently eyeing the Dexla Sandals (Adore those woven-looking straps) + Haize Sandals.
Mohinders
Love me a beautiful huarache design! Each pair is made by master shoemakers in the shoes’ town of origin: Athani, India. The leather keeps getting softer, richer, and custom-formed to your foot the more you wear them. I have their Woven Flats and love them. One note is that you definitely need to wear them in a bit — they were stiff and a bit uncomfortable at first but after some wear around the house, they stretched and now are some of the most comfortable shoes I own! Here is an alternative pair, if you’re looking for options.
Crocs
Word on the street is that these are in again, which makes me laugh, but honestly I SEE WHY! They are SO COMFORTABLE. I love my crocs for wearing around the house and while running around with the kids. Trust me on this one!
Soludos
Soludos are the perfecters of the espadrille! I had a pair of their stripe wedge sandals a few years back and loved them — sadly they were lost in during travel but I definitely want to get another pair! Also loving the Lemon Smoking Slipper.
Pairs Currently On My Wish List
Teva
Teva sandals are so comfortable as I owned a pair about a decade back (Ha!), and I’d love to add a pair as an option for active activities like walks or the parks with my kiddos. The Teva Women’s Original Universal Sandal has some great color options!
Melissa
The Melissa Possession Sandals totally remind me of a pair that I had when I was young, and fittingly, they are near identical to the jellies that Grace and Joey have! But how fun right?!
Sam Edelman
Sam Edelman has some really cool summer designs right now! I love the Slingback Sandals + Marjorie Slides for a dressy event, and the Kerin Platform Sandals are super cool.
